A few months ago Ali contacted us she had been following the Trash The Dress website, and when the photos Chris and I took back in June of Kristen & Michelle were posted on Trash The Dress’ sister site Let’s Get Trashed she recognized the location and emailed asking if we could trash her wedding dress!

Now Chris and I try to be the uber cool, collected photographers I know you ALL see us as (insert tone of sarcasm here), but when we got that email, let me just be honest, we both were pretty much jumping up and down! So far, when we have tried to explain the TTD concept to people we receive one of two reactions, 1) reluctantly consenting those photos MIGHT be cool, but just aren’t for them, or 2) outright not getting it. So to have someone contacting us and asking us if we would do this with her, we were overjoyed!

Ends up Ali and Danny are getting married September 1st and Ali had bought this tulle wedding skirt just for trashing. Every time I chatted with Ali, I just go more and more excited, we found out Danny wanted to join us for the session, we set up a date and were good to go!

Chris and I just fell in love with these two. They are so much fun to be with! They were ready to try anything we asked of them, and we loved every minute we spent with them. Chris and I had figured we would get in the water to get the shot, and probably get in up to our knees, but once we were there, as you will see from the photos below, all that went out the window and we ALL got soaked! After we finished up with the photos we headed back and grabbed a coffee to warm up and chat with Ali and Danny a bit more. Chris and I wish these two all the happiness in the world, they are just so wonderful for each other, and I know that they have many happy years ahead of them.

Ali was asked to share her experience with trashing her dress, and this is what she had to say.

“I have been following the Trash The Dress website for months now, absolutely loving every new update on the site, when I found out about the sister site for Seniors trashing their prom dresses. I loved those pictures as well, and saw a familiar bridge in one of them. I clicked on the link to Jen Stewart Photography, found out she was in my area, and seemed super cool, so I wrote her. I told her that my wedding was in September, but I wanted to do a TTD session with my fiancee, Danny, BEFORE my wedding with another dress. She was totally excited, and after a while of trying to figure out a good time, finally we met up. We showed up in a local parking lot, totally embarrassed that my overpowering white skirt was going to introduce me before I could! We met Jen, and her husband Chris, and were totally put at ease. They were SO much fun to be with, made us feel totally comfortable, and were willing to go the extra mile to get the best shots! Chris was up to his neck in water at one point, and super cute, totally pregnant Jen was wading up to her waist in water, and tumbling down embankments to get the best shot possible. Danny and I couldn’t have been more happy with our experience with Jen and Chris, our TTD session, or our resulting photos. The pictures and links have circulated amongst all of our friends and family, and people just keep passing it on, because everyone loves them so much! It was so much more than we ever could’ve hoped for, so much more fun than our “normal” engagement pictures (shhhh, don’t tell) and we are so much happier with the results and the memories of this day that we really will cherish forever.”
